I was back in Kentucky last week near the Menonite farm of Janice and Rose. I didn't get to visit them due to lack of time. They are such a joy.....there's a big framed picture of some Menonites and their farms taken by a professional
photographer traveling through last year hanging in the little Omish deli. There in one of the photos was a picture of
Rose standing in front of her mother's candle shop......she seems to capture everyone's heart. My hope is that in
about eight more years (making a ten year span ) I can do another tempra of them together again. They would be ages
of 14 (Janice) and 16 (Rose). I've got to keep my painting skills honed until that time comes. Kind of ironic, Anne
Marie, who I painted at the age of 13, is now a teacher and one of her first grade students this year is Rose.
"Fields of Gold" is about two weeks away from the start. I will be putting the progression on the "works in progess"
page as it takes shape.
