                                                                       "Washington Blue"
This was the watercolor originally done as a preliminary for a mural completed in egg tempra.  The mural
is inside the building which is now the Greensprings Office Complex.  It was originally a car dealership
and service station known as the Hicks Motor Company.  This painting was done from an old newspaper
photo taken in the early 1930's.  What makes this painting unique is that it is framed in car and truck parts
from that era and has it's own lighting system consisting of a 1931 cowl light from my dad's old A-model
and also the tail light which has a switch that turns both lights on.  My dad would have been proud that
I put his cowl and tail light to good use.   It also has a A-model hubcap in each corner of the frame which
is made from truck running boards with the mat consisting of 18 gauge metal painted in a standard color
of the A-model......Washington Blue, thus the name of the painting.
