Southern American Realism

"Waiting For Tomorrow"

The painting of this dress originated from sight of an old dress which had been hanging on this old clothes hanger since around 1950. The lady who wore it was named Emily. The light across the dress facinated me along with the dark shadows and ruffles. It was the most time consuming painting I've ever done taking fourteen months. Painted in egg tempra.
